If you want to learn how to brew beer at home, brewing beer using malt extract is not a bad place to start. Malt extract is basically a concentrated wort (pronounced wert), and by using it, you can save yourself the “mashing” step of brewing.

You can use it by itself for your home brew or you can add grains by either steeping or mashing. Using UNHOPPED MALT EXTRACT, you can develop your own hop characteristics using your own hop schedule.

If you want to brew a light colored beer using malt extract, shorten the boil time to about 45 minutes total, increase the hopping rates a little to compensate, and use the lightest dry malt extract possible. It may take some experimentation. But hey, it’s fun.
